This piece was created as the culminating final project for one of my art classes, incorporating all the topics we discussed throughout the quarter.

In the course, we explored binaries like rationality vs. mysticism and technology vs. nature. I represented these literally in my artwork by using binary code as the background, symbolizing rigid structures and dualistic thinking in modern technology. A shaman breaks down these binaries with vibrant colors and mystical symbols, representing the transformative power of art. This metaphor shows how creative expression can dissolve rigid boundaries, fostering a more inclusive understanding of the world.

This piece also reflects my experiences as a computer science major, balancing my technical focus with my passion for art. Art has been a liberating escape from the structured world of code, offering a freeing and expressive counterbalance. This personal journey influenced the creation of the artwork, reflecting the harmonious coexistence of technology and creativity in my life.
